Nashville Unseen is a reader-supported commentary site. We collect as little about you as we reasonably can, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
What we collect
Nashville Unseen is a static website. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run a comment system that stores your identity. We collect information in two ordinary ways:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pieces readers find useful, in aggregate. This records things like the pages you visit, your approximate region, your device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use it to make editorial decisions, not to identify you personally.
- Server and delivery logs. Our host and content-delivery network (Cloudflare) process standard technical data, such as IP address and request time, to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. We do not use cookies for advertising.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not run third-party ad networks on this site. We do not build marketing profiles about individual readers.
Third parties
The third-party services that make this site run, chiefly Google (analytics) and Cloudflare (hosting and delivery), handle data under their own privacy policies. If you email us, we receive and keep your message through our email provider so we can reply.
Your choices
You can browse with cookies disabled, use your browser's Do Not Track or tracking-protection features, or install Google's analytics opt-out tools. These all reduce or eliminate the little we collect.
